Community Service Plan
The Community Service Plan of the Southern Wisconsin Chapter of AGA consists of the following items: 1. Annual Food Drive We will ask members and guests to bring non-perishable food items to the September and November through March luncheon meetings. A donation box will be available also. For each item donated, the chapter will donate $1 to the food pantry. 2. Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program Chapter member volunteers will be trained by the IRS and State of Wisconsin Dept. of Revenue to assist low-income and non-English speaking citizens at various sites around the city to prepare their annual income tax returns from mid-January to April 15. Our chapter has participated in this event for many years. 4. Cash Donation We sent a check for $500 to the American Red Cross to help with flood disaster recovery efforts in Wisconsin in June/July. 5.
MS Walk 6. Other Opportunities as may occur during the year. Our chapter members will watch for other opportunities to perform community service during the year. This plan will be modified as events and opportunities are identified, such as possibly the Coats for Kids program or cash donations to local charitable organizations. Ideally, the chapter will sign up a group for a local charity walk to also serve as a social and teambuilding event. Community
